Before Amir was in Orgy he was in a band named Rough Cutt. It turned out that Amir was a huge fan of the band and when he met them he told them his vast knowledge and they asked him to join the band. They were signed to Warner Records from 1985 - 1987. Amir is also a producer/engineer. He got his certificate from UCLA. He co-produced and engineered Coal Chambers self-titled debut album and also on their second album as well. He also helped out the band SpineShank with some mixing on their album too.

Steph's Commentary on Amir - Uhh, Amir is so not quiet so get that thought right out of your head. I guess he can be , because at one point in time I too thought he was. But I thought wrong. He seems to be fascinated by things..gadgets whatever you wanna call them. Amir is a totally cool guy no matter what you hear. And that's all I have to say about him right now except. I need to steal one of those damn g-synths from him, even if it's just for an hr.
